PROGRAMMATIC ACCREDITATION

College of Osteopathic Medicine

In April of 1995, the Bureau of Private Post-Secondary Vocational Education (BPPVE) authorized Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM) to confer the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.  

After obtaining both pre-accreditation and provisional accreditation from the Bureau of Professional Education of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), TUCOM was authorized to open its doors to students during the 1997-1998 academic year.

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) acted to include TUCOM within the scope of Touro College’s accreditation in November, 1997.

In 2015, the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) of the AOA awarded a full 7-year accreditation status to TUCOM, with the next onsite evaluation scheduled in spring, 2022.

College of Pharmacy

The Touro University California College of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) (135 S. LaSalle Street, Suite 4100. Chicago, Illinois 60603-4810. Phone number: 312-664-3575). In 2015, ACPE awarded a full 8-year accreditation to TUC College of Pharmacy, with the next onsite evaluation scheduled for 2023.

College of Education & Health Sciences

Joint MSPAS/MPH Program

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants (ARC-PA) has granted Continued Accreditation to the Touro University California PA Program. Continued accreditation is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

Continued Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next comprehensive review of the program by the ARC-PA is September, 2018.

Master of Public Health Program

The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for a seven-year term extending to July 1st, 2022.  To request the official accreditation report, please contact the MPH program.

Graduate School of Education

The Graduate School of Education (GSOE) is granted the authority to offer Masters of Arts in Education (MA. Ed) and Masters of Education (M.Ed.) degrees by the WSCUC.  The next accreditation review is scheduled for spring 2018.  

The GSOE is granted the authority to recommend and authorize teacher credentials by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). The last CCTC site visit, 2009, fully endorsed Touro University California until fall 2017.

School of Nursing

The School of Nursing is a  member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and the Master of Science in Nursing Program is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) through December 31, 2021.
