INSTITUTIONAL REGIONAL ACCREDITATION
The Western Association of School and College (WASC) is one of the six regional accreditation agencies recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. WASC accredits institutions throughout California, Hawaii, and the Pacific as well as a limited number of institutions outside the U.S.
Touro University California, and its branch campus in Henderson, Nevada, are fully accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). The Commission reaffirmed Institutional Accreditation on July 13, 2010 after a three stage review which demonstrated core commitments to Institutional Capacity and Educational Effectiveness. The next accreditation review is scheduled in spring 2018, with the following specific dates:
- TUC Institutional Report: August 31st, 2017
- Offsite Review: November 8-9, 2017
- Accreditation Onsite Visit: April 16-19, 2018
TUC has convened a Steering Committee in June 2016. The committee is currently working on the Institutional Report. The University’s accreditation status is of interest to the entire TUC community. The steering committee expects to engage a wide-range of University constituents throughout the reaffirmation process. Evidence and feedback from students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, advisory board, community and others may solicited by the steering committee at various points in the process.
